Bitting the Youngster with the Sprenger Dynamic RS Full Cheek Bit

  •
Sprenger Dynamic RS bits are characterised by an ergonomically shaped mouthpiece allowing a soft and even distribution of pressure for a better contact between horse and rider.
The Dynamic RS Full Cheek bit lies very quietly in the horse’s mouth as the cheeks prevent the bit from being pulled through the mouth, making it ideal for the young horse. It avoids inconvenient pressure on the back teeth.
Due to the curved joints, the mouthpiece remains in the correct central position on the tongue, letting the rein aids work perfectly with the horse’s mouth and therefore encouraging the horse’s confidence in the rider’s hand and increasing safety.

Cavalor Switch – Helping Seasonal Skin Irritations

  •
IS your horse or pony prone to seasonal skin irritations, summer eczema or sweet itch?
Cavalor Switch can be used to help the issues and is especially useful when skin becomes inflamed.
Summer eczema or sweet itch usually occurs each year and goes hand in hand with dermatitis – inflammation of the skin.
The inflammation is caused by an allergic reaction to the saliva of certain biting midges that are active around sunrise and sunset during the warmer months.
This reaction causes a constant itch at the mane, base of the tail, head and ears, which results in the horse rubbing.
Cavalor Switch helps to repel insects while also hydrating and nourishing damaged and itchy skin.
Cavalor Switch is £33 for 500ml.

  •
THE Sprenger Comfort Roller Super Soft Spur has been developed with a rowel that is significantly thicker and more rounded than on the original Comfort Roller spurs.

When in contact with the horse, the rowel rolls with the horse and thus avoids rubbing and chafing on the fur and skin of sensitive horses.

With its unique fit and design, the spur can be adjusted to the foot by bending and the intelligent spur strap loop helps provide a perfect fit on the boot.

The Sprenger Comfort Roller Super Soft Spur is made of break-proof, high-quality stainless steel.

It is priced at £64.

Cavalor Dry Feet

  •

Cavalor® Dry Feet makes the hoof a less hospitable home for necrotic bacteria thanks to the combination of different active ingredients. Glutaraldehyde has an astringent (drying) and hardening effect, while Benzalkonium chloride makes sure the product sticks to the hoof longer.
Thrush is a very common bacterial infection that occurs on the hoof of a horse, specifically in the region of the frog. Horses with deep clefts or narrow or contracted heels are more at risk of developing thrush. Even if you try to keep your horse’s environment as clean as possible, bacteria are always prominent. Horses often stay in a stable with manure or a wet, muddy paddock.

Cavalor PodoGuard

  •

Cavalor PodoGuard hoof oil is a unique blend of nourishing and essential oils which penetrate deep into the hoof promoting optimal hoof condition.
The nourishing oil in Cavalor PodoGuard creates an ideal moisture balance. This will help promote better hoof growth, development and quality.
When hooves are soaked in water and mud, they will soften. The natural protective oils will then be stripped away making them more susceptible to invading organisms. Cavalor PodoGuard acts as an antibacterial barrier to keep moisture and microorganisms out.
500ml bottle - RRP £21.00
2000ml pouch – RRP £58.00.

In this issue leading show producers Simon and Natalie Reynolds provide advice on competition preparation in the run up to a show.

Pre Competition - Preparing the Coat
When getting horses ready for competitions bath one or two days before a show, weather permitting.
If your horse or pony is in need of a thorough bath Cavalor Equi Wash is great for taking out all the grease and dirt, accumulated from turning out at grass.
As we have a lot of greys on the yard this season including the lightweight cob Copenhagen owned by Rowena Stevenson and the maxi cob, Correl Wood belonging to Ruth Parker it appears to be a constant round of bathing and trimming.
Correl Wood is having a great season finishing at the top of the line at BSPS Area 5 and North of England Summer shows, just missing out on his HOYS ticket when finishing second at Lincolnshire Show.
