Eve Looks Set for Show Jumping Success

YOUNG Eve McCoy may have a legend of a father in the form of champion jockey AP, but it is the sport of show jumping that has attracted the 14-year-old who is rapidly making a name for herself over the coloured poles.
And her recent successes as a part of the GB Children on Horses team this year has led to her gaining support from Equipe saddles and UK distributor Zebra Products.
Eve has had a fantastic season with the bay gelding, Non Stop, known as Frankie at home, and was chosen to compete for Team GB at the European Championships at Vilamoura in Portugal where they finished in team bronze position.
At their two Children on Horses Nations Cup competitions, Eve and Non Stop were in the gold medal winning team in Holland and took team silver in France.

Said Eve: “I have had a brilliant year with Frankie and am delighted to now be riding in Equipe saddles, bridles and accessories. My preferred saddle model is the Evolution Special.
“I chose the Evolution Special because it is just so comfortable and helps provide security in the saddle while also giving me the freedom I require to move with the horse especially when jumping bigger fences.”
Part of the Platinum wooden tree family by Equipe. The Platinum Evolution Special is a close contact monoflap Jumping saddle with a traditional style wooden tree and the Equipe luxury calf covered “Special” leather.
Adds Eve: “It really is a team effort with so much support from mum and dad, but also Eleni Murphy who is my trainer, and her son Robert who rides my horses in the week at their base near Preston.”
As Eve is a full time boarder at Cheltenham College, she travels two hours on a Thursday to ride Frankie and her recent acquisition, Elia and then heads north again at the weekend to compete and train under Eleni’s guidance.
Her new ride, Elia is competing at 1.50m level and was purchased from Simon Buckley with the plan for Eve to continue to progress in the sport hopes to make her career.
Added mum Chanelle: “Eve hopes to work towards a full time career as a show jumper but myself and AP are keen for her to get her A’levels.
“She is very driven and passionate about the sport and is as determined as AP was when he was racing.
“Eve now has two talented horses and we will look to build that team over the next couple of years as she continues to gain more knowledge and the skills to compete at top-level.”
